The Covaxin Experience
Hellllllo guys
I know I said I will write in September and right now its January but that's ok. It's only a difference of.....4 months. To be precise..........1 year 4 months😅😅.
Told ya......consistency😁.
So.....I am 14 now and I am in 9th grade
Yayyyy
A lot has happened in between
For example
I shifted and now I am living elsewhere, but that is a story for life in lockdown part 2, which might take some time.
We have gone through many lockdowns in this phase.
Not going to play for a week. Then continuing again. Then again lockdown and so on.
It has become pretty exhausting now.
A new variant called omicron has come. Its spreading like wildfire but people recover soon.
The good thing is that it is expected to bring an end to the entire pandemic.
In fact Covid has almost become an endemic.
So 2022 is expected to end this. Finally, after 2 years of torture. And also since they have now found the cure, a vaccine, they are now administering it. India has actually been going on an impressive speed, vaccinating lakhs of people per day which is great. It took some time for all age groups to be eligible but near July end, the age group for my parents opened up and they got themselves vaccinated. Now as many must know the vaccination requires two doses. After that the immunity lasts for a long time. So my parents got their second jab in like November. This vaccine can have many side effects like hand pain, fever, soreness, body pain, etc. My mother got all of them while my dad got none. Makes you wonder eh?
But these effects get over after like 2 days.
My dad said that kids will be administered by a nasal spray which is in development. I was relieved to hear this because I am scared to death by needles. But this news wasn't confirmed.
By 3rd January people who are 15-18 years had become eligible for vaccination. But I am 14 so I wasn't. Or was I?
I later got to know that the vaccine was also open for registration for those born in 2007 which I happen to be.
Therefore, I was eligible.
That came as a surprise. I begged my parents not to take meat that time and to wait till after exams. Only one friend of mine had gotten vaccinated so that wasnt enough to convince my parents to take me. The next day I found out that two of my really close cousins had gotten vaccinated. That's what ushered my mom register me. I got this news on Tuesday(4th Jan) and they decided to take me on Friday(7th Jan) because my tests were going on and I didn't want a sore hand while writing the tests. You wouldn't believe the amount of research I did on whether it hurts or not. Google said that it didn't hurt much but 'not much' wasn't enough to convince me
Even my parents convinced me by saying that it's just a prick but that's the typical thing you would hear on this subject.
Friday kept coming closer and closer until, I think on Thursday, a message came from my school saying that they are conducting a vaccination drive. The date hadn't come but we could sign up. And it was free of cost. Whereas from where I was about to get it, it cost 1400. That's a huge difference. My mom signed me up. This delayed my vaccination by a week and a half. I stopped worrying about the vaccination. Then eventually the day came-15th Jan. I didnt worry much until that day. I thought there isn't much use worrying about 15th Jan from then. But obviously, that was until 15th Jan.
That's it for the blog guys.
I am sorry for this cliffhanger. I know it is horrible of me to leave the blog here, but I want to build some suspense and I also just wanted to write a kinda short blog because it has been long since I had written one.
So see ya in the next one. It might come in a week. I have already started writing it but you know me........consistent😅😅
